Term 3 - Week 3 - NZ Native Birds, Go Noodle & Writing Information Reports

New Zealand Native Birds

This week out Troopers selected one New Zealand bird to research as part of their Inquiry.
They also created a silhouette artwork that will be used to identify their chosen bird.

Whenever the weather is miserable outside, it does not stop our Troopers from having Fitness every day. With the assistance of GoNoodle we have fun fitness inside.

INFORMATION REPORT
This week our Troopers continued to learn how to write an information report.
This is how we should structure our information report

Here's an example of our efforts.
We will be posting more next week so come back for a visit.

Elephants are mammals. Just like me and you! They are the largest land animal in the world. The second largest is the hippopotamus.

Elephants travel in herds. They live on the African Plains and travel to the South-East Asian jungles.

Female elephants are known as cows. Cows only have babies every few years, so there are not many elephants. Baby elephants are called calves and male elephants are called bulls. When calves turn fourteen years old they will move on to live by themselves.

Elephants are herbivores. Herbivores mean they only eat plants. Elephants feed on juicy grass, leaves, flowers, plants and seeds. Elephants also need to eat 150kg of food every day.
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
Elephants are endangered species. These special animals are being killed by hunters. Hunters kill elephants for a special mineral in their tusks called Ivory. Many decorations have ivory in them.

I wish that they will leave these beautiful creatures alone.
I LOVE ELEPHANTS ! ! !
