Term 4 - Week 6 - Yea 5 EOTC WEEK ACTIVITIES

This week our Year 5 students did not attend camp 

however they had their own planned 

Education Outside the Classroom activities they participated in. 

DAY 1

Monday was our trip to the
Auckland STARDOME observatory planetarium

Here we learned all about planets, stars and the amazing features of our galaxy. We also got to have our photo taken in a space suit.

 

There was an awesome playground next to the STARDOME.

DAY 2 - ROCK CLIMBING WALL

The second day we learned to conquer our fear of heights by climbing a very tall mobile climbing wall.

It was so much fun, some of us were really good and some of us found it very challenging but we all gave it a try.

We learned how to strap on our harnesses properly and also how to climb properly. The instructor showed us how to do this before we were allowed on the wall.

The wall had different levels, from beginner to advance.

ON THE SECOND DAY WE ALSO ENJOYED SPORTING ACTIVITIES AND A MOVIE WITH POPCORN AND A FEW OTHER SNACKS.

 

 

DAY 3

WEDNESDAY - A DAY AT THE MANUREWA POOLS

AT THE POOLS WE GOT TO SHOW OFF OUR SWIMMING SKILLS THAT WE HAD BEEN TAUGHT AT SCHOOL.

NOW GUESS WHAT JUST OPENED AT MOUNTFORD PARK?

THAT'S RIGHT ANOTHER BRAND NEW PLAYGROUND.

WE HAD TO WALK PAST IT ON THE WAY TO THE POOL SO

WE JUST HAD TO TEST IT OUT.

Our wonderful Teacher Aides who without their help we will not be able to enjoy our EOTC week activities. Thank you TA's

 

DAY 4

Thursday - We got to learn bike safety

How to keep safe when using a bicycle. Things you have to check before using a bicycle.

We got to practice our skills in the safety of our school grounds.

DAY 5

PRIDE in our School

Cleaning our school grounds and designing murals plan

- Making hamburgers & a Movie Afternoon

Today we learned how to make burgers after we helped tidy up our school. 

A great week enjoyed by all our year 5 students.
